Optar, Illumina 25mm S16 T1.3 Lens (PL)

The Optar Illumina 25mm T1.3 Prime Lens (PL) covers the full Super-16 aperture with room to spare. The Optar Illumina Primes are often referred to as Russia’s answer to Zeiss Super Speeds. They are very similar to Zeiss Super Speeds in regards to speed, wide open performance, size, weight, and mechanical design. There are some differences though. These lenses have a unique iris design that produces petal shaped bokeh when stopped down. Their more modern coatings give flares a more modern flavor with more greens and magentas. The Optar Illumina lenses offer one of the most modern optical designs available for Super-16mm cinematography. They were the first set of lenses specifically designed for the Super-16 format. Lens has large, clearly marked focus markings, that can be read from either side of the lens. Excellent lens with nice color contrast and nice vintage warmth.
